We are committed to providing comprehensive and generous benefits and programs to support your physical, emotional, intellectual, and financial well-being and growth. 

Before your first day:  Helpful tips to prepare

  1. Review the Sana Benefit Guide and Enrollment Video to familiarize with our benefits so you’re ready to enroll your first week.
  2. If you have current prescriptions to refill, it’s a good idea to have a week or two worth of your current prescription to cover you until your Sana benefits are processed.  It can take up to 10 business days for new hire benefit enrollments to process with the insurance carriers.
  3. If you have healthcare appointments scheduled your first week that can’t wait, let your providers know you will be enrolling in your new benefits.  Ask if they wouldn’t mind submitting your claim after you enroll. Providers love when we are proactive.  If they know you’re starting a new role, providers offices are supportive of holding the claim until your coverage is in place.

Week 1:  Hooray, you’re here!

  1. Enroll in benefits:  Although you have 30 days to enroll from your hire date, enrolling in benefits is a great week 1 action item to check off your list.  Learn how to enroll here. If you have questions, reach out to us at totalrewards@sana.com and we’re happy to talk you through the different offerings.
  2. New group #’s:  Call your healthcare providers and give them your new coverage group #’s.  The Sana medical plan group numbers are on the medical page here, dental page here, and vision page here.
  3. Medical, Dental, Vision ID #’s:  You’ll receive your own medical and dental ID numbers about a week or so after you complete your benefit enrollment.  Call your healthcare providers and provide your new ID numbers so they are up to date. For vision, you’ll use your SSN number as your ID.
  4. 401(k) Plan:  You’ll receive a notice to register your Vanguard 401(k) account profile.  You will be auto enrolled in the plan at 5%. Important!  Report your previous employer’s plan contribution total to the payroll team to ensure you don’t run the risk of exceeding the IRS maximum for the year.  If you already reached the IRS maximum for this calendar year, be sure to change your contribution election to zero to avoid the auto-enrollment and exceeding the annual limit.

Week 2 and beyond:  Don’t forget!

  • Keep your eye on new posts in the #total_rewards Slack channel for updates from our team.  We’ll post important reminders or highlight specific benefits and other events related to health and well-being.  Personal benefit related health questions can be sent to totalrewards@sana.com.
  • Expect an email from HealthJoy with instructions to download the Sana benefit mobile app: Have your personalized benefits wallet at your fingertips including ability to make appointments, provider recommendations, Rx savings review, telemedicine appointments, and more.
  • Review all the other benefits and programs available on this portal.
