Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

A Healthcare FSA plan allows you to set aside pre-tax money to pay for health expenses. Eligible health expenses include co-payments, deductibles, dental/orthodontia expenses, medication, and eye care. If you wish to contribute funds towards a Healthcare FSA account, you must submit an FSA enrollment form during open enrollment, for the minimum of $260 up to the VTA maximum of $3,300. Previous plan year elections do NOT roll over.

ATU employees are responsible for an upfront, non-refundable annual administrative fee, which will be charged once for the plan year.

Administrative employees (AFSCME, SEIU, TAEA, Non-represented) receive $300 annually towards a Health FSA. This is an automatic annual benefit, and employees are not required to sign up for additional funds beyond the VTA funded amount.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

This plan allows you to set aside pre-tax money to pay for childcare expenses for children under age 13, or for a disabled adult tax dependent that lives with you and needs care while you work. The IRS maximum election for a Dependent Care FSA is $7,500 or $3,750 if married filing separately.

ATU employees are responsible for an upfront, non-refundable annual administrative fee, which will be charged once for the plan year.
