Open Enrollment Begins November 6th.
There are important medical carrier changes that you will see during Open Enrollment this year.  CEI is  transitioning from medical carrier UHC (United Healthcare) to Cigna effective January 1, 2024.

Cigna to Replace UHC in 2024
As part of CEI’s effort to give you a Total Rewards portfolio of benefits that power your well-being at work and beyond,  we will be replacing UHC with Cigna as our medical carrier to maintain service levels without compromising cost. 

Benefits of Cigna
We believe switching carriers  will improve the experience for employees and their family.  After analyzing the network of providers, service levels and prescription plans for Cigna, we expect there to be little to no disruption for most people currently insured with UHC.   By partnering with Cigna, members will have expanded access to new preventative and intervention programs with little to no additional cost. Under the new plan, CEI also has the opportunity to further invest in its own wellness initiatives throughout the year. Please take advantage of the resources below and review the attached flyer and FAQ to help you and your family make informed decisions about your healthcare plan.

If you are a Utah employee and wish to maintain Network access to Intermountain Health, you will need to select one of the Utah plans. These plans utilize Cigna’s PPO Network, which includes Intermountain Health.

What is Open Enrollment and Why Does it Matter?

Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to update your health plans, add or remove dependents, and change your annual Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) enrollments. Open Enrollment occurs from November 6 – November 20^th, 2023, and changes made during Open Enrollment become effective January 1^st, 2024.
