Vacation and Sick Leave
Vacation
After completion of 12 months of service, all full-time Open Shop Craft employees are eligible to accrue vacation hours. Open Shop Craft employees will accrue vacation at a rate that yields 40 hours vacation per year. The accrual rate is equal to .02 vacation hours per hour worked. Unused vacation hours carry over from one year to the next up to a maximum 80 hours. Once this maximum has been accrued, no additional vacation is earned until balance drops below the maximum.
If you are a rehired employee, you will be given credit for prior service toward your vacation accrual.
Sick Leave
All Open Shop Craft employees are eligible. Time will accrue at the rate of 1 hour of paid sick time for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum balance of 72 hours. Unused paid sick time carries over from year to year. You can begin using sick time as soon as it is accrued. There will be no cash payouts of unused sick time.
