Guardian Life and Disability


Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance help provide a foundation of financial protection for your family if something happens to you. All full-time employees are automatically enrolled in the Lincoln Basic Life and AD&D plan. The Basic Life and AD&D plan is entirely paid for by Matarozzi Pelsinger Builders.

Basic Life provides a cash benefit of $50,000. Basic AD&D provides an additional benefit if your death is the result of a covered accident. It also pays benefits for loss of limb, hearing, speech, sight, and other serious losses resulting from an accident. See your policy documents for details of coverage.

Voluntary Coverage

Voluntary Life and AD&D Insurance provides an extra layer of protection allowing you to purchase additional coverage for yourself, your spouse, and/or your child(ren). All amounts elected in ADP outside of the new hire enrollment period will require approval through the Evidence of Insurability (EOI) process. If the EOI process is not started within 30 days of when you make your election the coverage will be declined.

Guardian Disability Income Protection


If you become sick or injured and cannot work, disability insurance helps to protect your income while you recover. All employees are automatically enrolled in both Short and Long Term Disability which is paid for in full by Matarozzi Pelsinger Builders through Lincoln Financial Group.


Short Term Disability (STD)

The STD plan is designed to provide you with income if you are unable to work due to injury, illness or other eligible events, including maternity leave. After 7 days of disability, you will be eligible to receive a weekly benefit based on a percentage of your weekly salary.

Weekly benefits may replace up to 60% of your salary to a maximum benefit of $2,308 per week for up to 12 weeks.


Long Term Disability (LTD)

LTD provides income replacement if you are unable to work for a period longer than 90 days due to injury or illness. This is an extremely important benefit, in that it will provide disability income to your Social Security Normal Retirement Age in the case of a total permanent disability.

LTD benefits can replace up to 60% of your salary to a maximum benefit of $12,500 per month.
