The Healthcare FSA Plan is used for eligible out-of-pocket health care costs. The IRS limits your maximum contribution to $2,850 for the 2022 plan year. Please keep in mind that money you contribute does not roll over from year to year. It's a use-it-or-lose-it proposition so consider your likely expenses carefully, plan accordingly, and make sure to spend your account balance before the end of the year. There is an exception to the use-it-or-lose-it rule; you can carryover up to $570 of unused funds into the next plan year. Please note that any unused funds over $570 will be forfeited.
The Limited Purpose Health Care FSA Plan works the same as the Health Care FSA, however you are limited to reimbursement for dental and vision expenses only. You can only enroll in this plan if you are enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).
The Dependent Day Care FSA Plan is used for eligible dependent care expenses for children under the age of 13 or dependent adults. You and your spouse must both work or be a full-time student in order to participate. This program works much like the Healthcare FSA. You can set aside up to $5,000 annually to pay for eligible dependent care expenses so that you (and/or your spouse if you're married) can work — or so your spouse can attend school full-time. Eligible dependents include your children under age 13, spouse, parents, or dependents age 13 or older who are physically or mentally incapable of self-care. The $5,000 contribution limit is a per house maximum. If you are married and file separately, your annual limit is $2,500.
