Disability
Short Term Disability (STD)
Short-Term Disability coverage, through United Healthcare, provides you with a portion of income replacement if you are unable to work due to a non-occupational illness or injury.
Employer Paid – Washington Employees
The STD plan provides 60% of your weekly salary, to a maximum of $1,380 per week for up to 12 weeks of a disability. Benefits begin after 7 days of missed work because of an accident or an illness. You are automatically covered under the STD plan at no cost to you.
Employee Paid – California Employees
California employees are covered under the California State Disability Insurance (SDI) program. In addition, you can purchase voluntary STD that provides 20% of your weekly salary, to a maximum of $1,000 per week for the first 12 weeks of a disability (after a 7-day waiting period).
