Disability Plans

AspenHR offers employers both Short-term and Long-term disability benefit plans for their eligible employees.

The Short-Term Disability plan is designed to provide income replacement if an eligible employee is unable to work due to injury or illness, including maternity.

The Long-Term Disability plan is designed to provide income replacement if you are unable to work for a period longer than 180 days due to injury or illness.

Both employer-funded options and voluntary options are available.

The employer-funded options require 100% participation and comes with a gross-up feature that will tax employees on employer paid premiums. By paying the tax up front, any benefits received by the employee will become tax free.

The new voluntary option is now available for employers who want to offer disability plans, but on a voluntary basis to their employees

Please reach out to ASPENHR if you have further questions.
